How do I light my fire?

Press and hold the button until the fire catches; it takes about a second. If you let go early, the torch pulls back and you can try again. You can also tap I'm okay 🔥 on a reminder notification, or use the Igni widget, the Control Center control or a Shortcut.

What happens if I don't light it?

At your daily time, Igni sends you a gentle reminder, and a second one an hour later. If your fire is still dark when your grace period ends, the people in your circle are told. Six hours later, the ones who haven't seen it get one follow-up. Then nothing more until you light your fire.

I forgot, and my circle was told. What now?

Light your fire. Everyone who was told gets "all good" right away.

How do I change my time or grace period?

Open Settings (the gear) and change Daily time and Grace. You can also set a different time on weekends. The defaults are 10:00 with a 2-hour grace period.

How do I invite someone?

Open Settings and add someone under People who see your fire. Pick a name from your contacts or type one, choose the relationship, and send the invite link, for example in Messages or WhatsApp. They need the Igni app, and nothing reaches them until they accept. On the free plan one person can see your fire; with Igni Pro, up to 10.

What is a mutual fire?

If you both live alone, tick Make it mutual when you invite them. Each of you then sees the other's fire on your own hills, and a ♥ shows when they've seen yours. Watching someone's fire is always free.

How do I stop watching someone, or remove someone from my circle?

Open Settings: under Fires you watch, choose Stop watching; under People who see your fire, choose Remove. Either side can end it at any time.

Can I stop someone seeing that I opened their alert?

Yes. In Settings, under Fires you watch, turn off Share that I've seen it. A ♥ you send still reaches them.

I'm travelling. How do I pause alerts?

Settings → Away, and choose the dates. Your fire is covered, no alerts go out, and your circle gets one note that you're away. On the free plan, away mode can be set up to 7 days ahead; with Igni Pro, for longer.

Can my fire light itself?

With Igni Pro, yes. In Settings → Auto check-in, choose steps (100 or more in a day) or Apple Watch heart rate. Igni explains what it reads before asking for permission. The values never leave your iPhone. You can still light your fire yourself at any time.

I don't get reminders. What should I check?

Igni needs notifications. In iOS Settings → Notifications → Igni, allow notifications and Time Sensitive Notifications, so reminders and alerts come through a Focus. Igni also shows a note in the app when notifications are off.

I have a new iPhone. How do I keep my account?

Before you switch, open Settings and tap Link with Apple. On the new iPhone, install Igni, open Settings and tap Link with Apple again with the same Apple Account: your account and circle come back. Without the link, a new install starts a new account.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Delete my account. Everything is deleted from our server right away, and your circle is told it has ended. If you have Igni Pro, cancel it first in Manage subscription: deleting your account doesn't cancel it.

What happens to my circle if Igni Pro ends?

Only the first person you invited stays active. The others are paused: they don't hear about your fire, including alerts, until you have room again. Each of them gets one notice. They show as Needs Pro in your Settings, and come back on their own when you turn Pro back on or remove someone.

If someone you watch is paused, you see a note instead of their fire. If you wonder how they are, give them a call.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open the Pro screen and tap Restore purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought Igni Pro with.

How do I cancel Igni Pro?

In iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Igni, or Manage subscription in Igni's Settings. Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
