Dosi Terms of Use
1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Burak Özaslan, who makes Dosi at 1801 Labs ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Dosi, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
2. Dosi is a reminder and a log, not medical advice
Dosi is a reminder and log app. It is not a medical device and not medical advice. Dosi reminds you at the times you set and keeps a log. It does not have a medical purpose of its own, and it never:
- calculates or suggests a dose;
- checks doses or warns about interactions;
- interprets a dose that wasn't marked;
- tells anyone what to do medically.
Always follow your prescriber's or pharmacist's instructions. Enter each medicine and dose exactly as your prescriber told you; Dosi doesn't check it. The picture of a medicine is the look you picked from Dosi's library, not an identification of the medicine. If you're not sure whether a dose was taken or what to do, ask your pharmacist or doctor. The history PDF is a log kept by you in Dosi, not a medical record. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
3. Reminders and alerts can fail
Dosi can't guarantee that an alarm, a reminder or a caregiver alert arrives, or arrives on time. They depend on things outside our control, including:
- your iPhone being on, charged and working, and its volume, Focus and notification settings;
- the permissions you give Dosi: if alarms are off, alarm doses come as notifications; if notifications are also off, those doses aren't reminded;
- Dosi being able to renew its schedule: alarms and reminders are planned a week ahead and renewed when you open Dosi and in the background, when iOS allows it;
- the time zone: dose times follow your iPhone's current time zone, so when you travel, reminders follow the local clock;
- for the family view and caregiver alerts, network connections, iCloud, Apple's Push Notification service and our alert server being reachable. Our alert server runs on one server: if it is down, caregiver alerts don't go out until it is back, and then they arrive late. A caregiver may also get an alert for a dose that was taken if the mark hasn't reached us yet, for example because the phone was offline.
Caregiver alerts are a reminder aid. Don't rely on Dosi as the only way to remember a medicine or to check on someone. If you're worried about someone, call them.
4. The licence and Apple's Standard EULA
Dosi is licensed, not sold, to you through the App Store under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These terms add to the Standard EULA. Where they conflict in a way that affects your rights as an App Store user, the Standard EULA prevails.
You and we acknowledge that:
- These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Dosi and its content.
- Your licence is limited to using Dosi on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service allow.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for Dosi. Support is provided by us (section 19).
- If Dosi fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Dosi.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to Dosi or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that Dosi fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If a third party claims that Dosi or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You agree to comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use Dosi, such as your mobile carrier's.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
5. What Dosi is
Dosi is a medication reminder with a shared family pillbox. You add each medicine with its name, look, amount and times; Dosi reminds you with an alarm or a notification and keeps a log of what was taken or skipped. With Dosi Family, you can share a box with family through iCloud, look after someone who has no phone of their own, and let the people who look after you get an alert when an alarm dose isn't marked by the end of its grace time.
6. Who can use Dosi
You can use Dosi if you can enter into a binding agreement in your country. A parent or guardian may use Dosi for a child they look after.
7. Your box, your family and consent
- Invite only people you know and who agree to see the box. Anyone in a shared box can see the medicines that are visible to family and the log, and can mark doses (see the privacy policy).
- Add someone you look after only if you are responsible for their care or have their permission, and use their information only for that care.
- Mark doses honestly and only when they were taken or given. Don't use Dosi to track, pressure or harass anyone.
- You are responsible for what you enter. Keep medicine names, amounts and times up to date with your prescriber's instructions.
8. Free features and Dosi Family
Dosi is free to download and free for one person, with unlimited medicines, alarms and notifications, widgets and refill counts. Dosi Family is optional and adds sharing a box with family, caregiver alerts, people you look after, the family refill view and the history PDF. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency. One purchase can be shared with your Family Sharing group.
Dosi Family is offered as:
- Monthly and yearly: auto-renewable subscriptions.
- Lifetime: a one-time purchase that does not renew.
For the subscriptions:
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Auto-renewal: a subscription renews automatically for the same period at the end of each period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends, at the same price unless we told you about a change in advance.
- Manage or cancel at any time in your Apple Account settings: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Dosi. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Dosi Family stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
- Restore purchases is available in Dosi. Use the same Apple Account you bought Dosi Family with.
- If Dosi Family ends, your own medicines, alarms and log stay as they are, and the Dosi Family features stop until you buy it again.
All purchases are made through Apple and are also governed by Apple's terms.
9. Refunds
Purchases are processed by Apple, and we cannot issue refunds ourselves. You can request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
10. Your data
How Dosi handles data, including what your family sees and what our alert server stores and for how long, is described in the privacy policy. Your medicines and log stay on your devices and in your own iCloud. We can't recover them for you: keep iCloud on if you want them to survive a new phone.
11. Fair use
Don't misuse Dosi: don't try to break, overload, reverse engineer or interfere with the app, our alert server or Apple's services beyond what the law allows, and don't send the server false data or use Dosi to get around its limits.
12. Our rights
Dosi, its design, the pillbox, the pill library, its code and name belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a licence to use the app, not ownership of it. The information you enter is yours.
13. Provided as is
Dosi is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We work to keep alarms, reminders and caregiver alerts reliable, but we can't promise that Dosi is free of errors, that it will run without interruption, or that every alarm, reminder or alert is delivered (section 3).
14. Liability
We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for personal injury or harm to health caused by our breach of duty, and where mandatory law says so. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for an alarm, reminder or alert that isn't delivered or is late for reasons outside our control, for information entered incorrectly, or for decisions about medicines, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Dosi in the 12 months before the claim. This does not limit your statutory rights as a consumer.
15. Changes to Dosi and these terms
We may update Dosi and these terms. If a change is significant, we will show it in the app or on this page before it applies. The date above shows the latest version.
16. Ending
You can stop using Dosi and delete its data at any time. We may end these terms with reasonable notice, or immediately for serious breaches, such as misuse under section 7 or 11. Sections 2, 3, 9, 12, 13 and 14 continue to apply afterwards.
17. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The courts of Istanbul have jurisdiction, except where the consumer protection law of the country you live in gives you the right to bring a claim there. You keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
18. If part of these terms doesn't apply
If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
