Trea Terms of Use
1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Burak Özaslan, who makes Trea at 1801 Labs ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Trea, or by using a Trea sitter page, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Trea.
2. Trea is a care log, not veterinary advice
Trea is a care log and a sitter hand-over app, not a veterinary service. Trea keeps a log. It isn't veterinary advice.
- Trea never calculates or suggests doses, never interprets glucose readings, and never tells anyone what to do medically. The lowest reading of a day is shown as data, not as a judgement.
- Enter doses exactly as your vet told you. Trea doesn't check them. Amounts are shown to your household and your sitters exactly as you wrote them.
- The double-dose guard ("Already given") only knows the doses that were marked in Trea. It can't know about a dose that was given and not marked, or marked by mistake.
- Glucose readings are the readings you entered. Share them with your vet.
- If you are not sure about a dose or your pet's health, call your vet. In an emergency, contact a vet or an emergency vet right away.
A log kept by your household and sitters. Not veterinary advice; follow your vet.
3. Reminders and alerts can fail
Trea can't guarantee that a dose reminder, a trip notification or a late-visit alert arrives, or arrives on time. They depend on things outside our control, including your and your household's devices, their settings (such as notifications or Focus), network connections, iCloud, Apple's Push Notification service and our server being reachable. The sitter page needs an internet connection; a stamp made without one is sent when the connection returns, as long as the page stays open.
Don't rely on Trea as the only way to make sure your pet gets its care. Agree on a plan with your sitter, keep your vet's number at hand, and if a visit seems to be missed, contact your sitter directly.
4. The licence and Apple's Standard EULA
Trea is licensed, not sold, to you through the App Store under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These terms add to the Standard EULA. Where they conflict in a way that affects your rights as an App Store user, the Standard EULA prevails.
You and we acknowledge that:
- These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Trea and its content.
- Your licence is limited to using Trea on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service allow.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for Trea. Support is provided by us (section 20).
- If Trea fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Trea.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to Trea or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that Trea fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If a third party claims that Trea or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You agree to comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use Trea, such as your mobile carrier's.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
5. What Trea is
Trea has two parts. Every day is a log of your pets' doses and care: a care book, reminders, a one-tap Given, the double-dose guard, a glucose log and a household that sees and marks the same log through iCloud. Trip is a hand-over for when you travel: you plan visits and give each sitter a link to a web page and a 4-digit code. Each visit stamps your trip ticket, and our server tells you if a visit hasn't checked in. Sitters don't need the app or an account.
6. Who can use Trea
You can use Trea if you can enter into a binding agreement in your country.
7. Your household, your sitters and the information you share
- Share only with people you trust. A sitter link together with its code opens your care instructions, your contact numbers and, if you add it, your house card. Give the code to the sitter yourself, and turn the link off if you no longer need it.
- The house card. If you add a door code or Wi-Fi password, the sitter sees it only after tapping Show, and you see that they did. Change your door code after the trip if you shared it.
- Other people's information. Add a sitter's or anyone else's name and phone number only with their agreement, and point your sitters to the privacy policy, which explains the sitter page.
- Your arrangement with your sitter is your own. Trea is not a marketplace. It doesn't find, vet, employ or pay sitters, and money never moves through Trea.
- We can't recover your data. Your household's data lives in your own iCloud. Trip content on our server is encrypted with a key we never receive, and it is deleted 30 days after the trip.
8. Using the sitter page
If you look after a pet through a Trea link, you use the sitter page free of charge and without an account. Follow the owner's instructions and their vet's. If a dose item shows Already given, don't give it again. If you're not sure, call the owner or the vet listed on the page. Sections 2, 3, 12, 14, 15, 18 and 19 apply to your use of the sitter page.
9. Free features, Trea Pro and the Trip pass
Trea is free to download. The free version includes one pet, unlimited doses, the household, one active trip with one sitter, and the sitter page. Trea Pro is optional and adds unlimited pets and trips, several sitters per trip, the trip archive with photos, the vet PDF, and glucose history beyond 7 days. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency. The sitter page is always free for sitters.
Trea Pro is offered as:
- Monthly and yearly: auto-renewable subscriptions.
- Lifetime: a one-time purchase that does not renew.
The Trip pass is a one-time purchase that gives one trip all of Trea Pro's trip features. It does not renew.
For the subscriptions:
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Auto-renewal: a subscription renews automatically for the same period at the end of each period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends, at the same price unless we told you about a change in advance.
- Manage or cancel at any time in your Apple Account settings: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Trea. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
- Restore purchases is in the app. Use the same Apple Account you bought with.
- If Pro ends, Pro features stop. What you and your household have logged is not deleted.
All purchases are made through Apple and are also governed by Apple's terms.
10. Refunds
Purchases are processed by Apple, and we cannot issue refunds ourselves. You can request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
11. Your data
How Trea handles data, including what our server stores for trips, for how long, and what sitters see and add, is described in the privacy policy.
12. Fair use
Don't misuse Trea or the sitter page. Don't try to guess codes, break, overload, reverse engineer or interfere with the app, the sitter page, our server or Apple's services beyond what the law allows. Don't use Trea to watch or track anyone, or to store information you aren't allowed to keep.
13. Our rights
Trea, its design, the mascots, the stamps, its code and name belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a licence to use the app and the sitter page, not ownership of them. The information you enter is yours.
14. Provided as is
Trea and the sitter page are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We work to keep reminders, the sitter page and trip notifications reliable, but we can't promise that Trea is free of errors, that it will run without interruption, or that every notification is delivered (section 3).
15. Liability
We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for personal injury or harm to health caused by our breach of duty, and where mandatory law says so. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for the content of the care book or the doses you or others enter, for decisions about a pet's care, for what a sitter does or doesn't do, or for a reminder, notification or alert that isn't delivered or is late for reasons outside our control. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Trea in the 12 months before the claim. This does not limit your statutory rights as a consumer.
16. Changes to Trea and these terms
We may update Trea and these terms. If a change is significant, we will show it in the app or on this page before it applies. The date above shows the latest version.
17. Ending
You can stop using Trea and delete its data at any time. We may end these terms with reasonable notice, or immediately for serious breaches, such as misuse under section 12. Sections 2, 3, 10, 13, 14 and 15 continue to apply afterwards.
18. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The courts of Istanbul have jurisdiction, except where the consumer protection law of the country you live in gives you the right to bring a claim there. You keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
19. If part of these terms doesn't apply
If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
