How do I add someone?

Add a person and give their name. Their role, how often you meet (weekly, every two weeks or monthly), the weekday and time, and a colour are optional. Pick from Contacts fills in the name and job title from one contact you choose, without giving Notul access to your contacts.

When does the prep card arrive?

Ten minutes before each 1:1, a notification opens the prep card: what happened since last time, and on the back today's agenda and a question to ask. Notul times it from the schedule you set. Turn on Match my calendar for a person, and it times it from today's calendar event with that person's name instead. Calendar events stay on your device; Notul only reads the title and start time of matching events.

Why don't my reminders show names?

By default, reminders, widgets and the Live Activity don't show names, so someone glancing at your screen doesn't learn whom you meet. To show first names, turn on Show names in reminders and widgets in Settings.

How do follow-ups carry over?

Mark each follow-up as yours or theirs. When you end a 1:1, ticked items close and the rest move to the next 1:1 until they're done.

How do review drafts work?

Open Review season, pick a person and a period, and Notul drafts highlights, growth and examples from your notes, on your device. Every line shows the dated notes it comes from; tap one to open the note. The draft never rates or compares people or describes feelings: lines that would are removed and the notes shown instead. Use Copy draft, or export it as PDF or Markdown, and write the final text yourself. Review drafts need a device with Apple Intelligence; without it you get your notes grouped by kind and month.

Does Notul record my 1:1s?

No, never. Dictation is only for your own quick notes, turns your voice into text on your device, and keeps no audio.

Does Notul sync between my iPhone, iPad and Mac?

Yes, through your own private iCloud, if iCloud is on. Your notes are encrypted on your device before they're uploaded. If you'd rather keep them on one device, turn sync off in Settings. To move a device's notes back to iCloud later, use Turn on iCloud sync.

Can I lock Notul?

Yes. Turn on Lock in Settings to require Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. Your device needs a passcode for this. Whether or not the lock is on, the app switcher shows a cover instead of your notes.

Can I share a card with the person or with HR?

No. Notul has no sharing. Only you see the cards. If you need to hand over something, such as a review text, copy or export it yourself and decide where it goes.

How do I back up or move my notebook?

With Notul Pro, Export encrypted copy saves your notebook as a .notul file sealed with a password you choose. Use Import… on another device to open it. Keep the password safe: we can't recover it or the file without it.

Someone left my team. What should I do?

Archive them. Their card becomes read-only and leaves the deck, and their notes stay available. When you no longer need the notes, delete them, and check your company's rules on how long you may keep them.

How do I delete my data?

Settings → Delete everything removes your notebook from your iCloud first, then from this device. If iCloud can't be reached, Notul tells you and nothing is half-deleted: you can Try again, or choose Delete on this device only, which removes this device's copy and leaves your iCloud copy as it is. You can also delete Notul's iCloud data in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage → Notul.

What's free, and what does Notul Pro add?

The free version is complete for up to nine people, on iPhone, iPad and Mac, with review drafts, PDF and Markdown export, iCloud sync and three templates. Notul Pro adds 10 or more people, all 14 templates, encrypted export and a receipt for your expense report. It's yearly, monthly or a one-time lifetime purchase.

How do I get a receipt for my expense report?

With Notul Pro, open Settings and tap Receipt for expenses. Notul makes a PDF from Apple's transaction: what you bought, when, and the transaction number.

How do I restore or cancel Notul Pro?

Restore purchases is in Notul's Settings; use the same Apple Account you bought Pro with. To cancel a subscription, go to iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Notul, or tap Manage in Notul's Settings. If Pro ends, your notes are never locked: pages opened with Pro templates stay readable and editable.
