Meshin Terms of Use

1. These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Burak Özaslan, who makes Meshin at 1801 Labs ("we", "us"). They apply to the Meshin app for iPhone and to the Meshin player web app at meshin.1801labs.com. By downloading or using either, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Meshin.

2. What Meshin is

Meshin organises pickup football. An organiser sets up a crew and its matches, players say whether they're in from the app or from a link in any browser, the teams are balanced from the players' ratings, the score counts once the players who played confirm it, and every player has a card that changes with confirmed matches and anonymous ratings from the other players.

Meshin doesn't arrange, book or supervise pitches or matches, and doesn't check who plays. The people in a crew arrange their matches themselves.

3. The licence and Apple's Standard EULA

The iOS app is licensed, not sold, to you through the App Store under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These terms add to the Standard EULA. Where they conflict in a way that affects your rights as an App Store user, the Standard EULA prevails. If you use only the web app, these terms apply to you directly.

You and we acknowledge that:

  • These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Meshin and its content.
  • Your licence is limited to using Meshin on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service allow.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for Meshin. Support is provided by us (section 21).
  • If Meshin fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Meshin.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to Meshin or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that Meshin fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
  • If a third party claims that Meshin or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
  • You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • You agree to comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use Meshin, such as your mobile carrier's.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

4. Who can use Meshin

You must be 16 or older and able to enter into a binding agreement in your country, or have the consent of a parent or guardian where your country's law requires it. Meshin asks for your year of birth when you set up your profile and doesn't create an account for anyone under 16.

5. Your account

You sign in with Apple or with an email link. Keep access to your Apple Account and your email secure: anyone who controls them can sign in to your Meshin account. One account per person. You're responsible for what happens in your account.

6. What you post

Meshin shows things you and other people create to the people you play with: nicknames, real names if added, crew, team and league names, pitch names, players added by an organiser, payment details, and card photos. You keep the rights to what you post, and you give us the permission we need to store it and show it to those people inside Meshin.

You agree not to post anything that:

  • is sexual, violent, hateful, threatening or harassing, or mocks a person, a body or an ability;
  • pretends to be someone else, or uses someone else's photo without their permission;
  • is spam or advertising, or links to it;
  • shares someone else's personal information without their permission;
  • is unlawful or infringes someone else's rights.

Nicknames and the names of crews, teams, leagues and added players are checked against a list of words that aren't allowed. Photos are checked before anyone else sees them, as described in the privacy policy.

7. Reporting and blocking

  • Report a photo: in the iOS app, touch and hold a player in a match and choose Report photo. A reported photo is hidden at once until we review it.
  • Report a person, a name or anything else: write to support@1801labs.com with the crew or team and the nickname.
  • Block someone: in Discover, choose Block on their row. You won't see each other in Discover, invites or photos. Unblock them in You → Blocked.

We review every report. Where content breaks these terms, we remove it, and we may suspend or delete the account that posted it.

8. Acceptable use

  • No betting, ever. Don't use Meshin for odds, stakes, wagers, prize pools, "loser pays" arrangements or any other gambling on matches, ratings or cards.
  • Rate honestly. Don't agree with others to raise or lower someone's rating, and don't use ratings or votes to pressure, punish or humiliate anyone.
  • Invite and add only people you actually play with, by the name they go by, and respect it when someone declines or blocks you.
  • Don't use Meshin, including Discover, to track, contact or harass anyone outside football.
  • Don't try to break, overload, scrape, reverse engineer or interfere with the app, the web app, our server or Apple's services beyond what the law allows, and don't create accounts to get around the app's limits or a block.

9. Ratings, scores and cards

Ratings are the honest opinions of the players who played. They are anonymous, trimmed and capped as described in the app and the privacy policy, and a card is not an assessment by us of anyone's ability. A score counts only when more than half of the registered players who played confirm it within 48 hours; an unconfirmed score never changes cards or stats. We may correct cards, stats or scores that result from a fault or from misuse.

10. Money between players

Meshin never holds, moves or processes money between players. It shows who owes what and who has paid, as marked by the organiser, and lets players copy the organiser's payment details. Any payment is made outside Meshin, between you and the organiser, and any dispute about it is between you. Organisers are responsible for the payment details they add.

11. Free features and Group Pro

Meshin is free to download and use, for organisers and players. On the free plan you can organise one crew with unlimited matches and use everything a player needs: joining from a link, the waitlist, balanced teams and the reveal, money tracking, score confirmation, ratings, cards, Discover, and joining teams and leagues.

Group Pro is optional. The organiser of a crew buys it in the iOS app for that crew, and it adds: more than one crew, matches that repeat every week, several "not together" pairs when balancing, the crew's crest instead of the watermark on share images, crew data as CSV, and creating teams, friendlies and leagues. It is offered as a monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscription. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency. The web app doesn't sell anything.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Auto-renewal: a subscription renews automatically for the same period at the end of each period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends, at the same price unless we told you about a change in advance.
  • Manage or cancel at any time in your Apple Account settings: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Meshin. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Group Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Restore purchases is on the Group Pro screen in the app. Use the same Apple Account you bought Group Pro with.
  • Deleting your Meshin account doesn't cancel the subscription. Cancel it with Apple first.
  • If Group Pro ends, the crew, its matches and its history stay. Group Pro features stop: weekly matches are no longer created, and you can't start Pro-only things such as another crew, a team or a league until Group Pro is on again.
  • Split Pro into the match fee only adds a line to the amount each player sees. Meshin collects nothing from players.

All purchases are made through Apple and are also governed by Apple's terms.

12. Refunds

Purchases are processed by Apple, and we cannot issue refunds ourselves. You can request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

13. Your data

How Meshin handles data, including what our server stores, what other players see and for how long we keep it, is described in the privacy policy. You can download your data and delete your account in the app or on the web at any time.

14. Our rights

Meshin, its design, its cards and animations, its code and name belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a licence to use Meshin, not ownership of it.

15. Provided as is

Meshin is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We work to keep it reliable, but we can't promise that Meshin is free of errors, that it will run without interruption, that every notification or email arrives, or that Discover shows players in your area.

16. Liability

Football carries a risk of injury. Meshin doesn't organise, supervise or insure matches, and the people who play are responsible for their own safety and conduct. We are not responsible for what other users post or do, on or off the pitch, beyond acting on reports as described in section 7.

We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for personal injury or harm to health caused by our breach of duty, and where mandatory law says so. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Meshin in the 12 months before the claim. This does not limit your statutory rights as a consumer.

17. Changes to Meshin and these terms

We may update Meshin and these terms. If a change is significant, we will show it in the app or on this page before it applies. The date above shows the latest version.

18. Ending

You can stop using Meshin and delete your account at any time. We may end these terms with reasonable notice, or immediately for serious breaches, such as under sections 6, 7 or 8. Sections 10, 12, 14, 15 and 16 continue to apply afterwards.

19. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The courts of Istanbul have jurisdiction, except where the consumer protection law of the country you live in gives you the right to bring a claim there. You keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.

20. If part of these terms doesn't apply

If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
